Visit Plano's Downtown @ Sundown
Greetings from NBC 5 and Historic Downtown Plano.Every second Saturday, now through Saturday, Nov. 10, between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., downtown Plano comes alive at Downtown @ Sundown. The Historic Downtown Plano Association created this spectacular event for you and your family to enjoy. So come out and experience Historic Downtown Plano.Downtown @ Sundown includes extended hours for merchants, special showings at art galleries, music and vendor space.
Extended Shopping Hours
All of the Downtown @ Sundown merchants on 15th and Avenue K are encouraged to keep the doors later to accommodate the crowds. DART riders will be able to use the Destination Deals programs. Also being offered is Q Club, part of the Quick and Dallas Morning News Family, which offers discounts to encourage participation. Various merchants will offer specials based on the Q Club Card.Art Walk
The Downtown Plano area is full of great art galleries. They will be open and some may have special exhibits.Entertainment Stage
Situated in the J Place parking lot, the music arts will be performing from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. There will be two separate acts playing for 90 minutes with a half-hour break in between. The genres will vary as the series progresses. Some Downtown @ Sundown nights will have a theme such as 70's night or Back to School.The Marketplace
This area is set up to offer our merchants that are NOT on 15th Street a venue to promote their business and to offer services and merchandise. The Historic Downtown Plano Association and sponsors will also have booths. The target products for these vendors are upscale goods, community services, information on businesses and groups, food and finer arts & crafts.Silent Auction
A silent auction will also be included in each monthÂ’s event. Tickets will be available at the Historic Downtown Plano AssociationÂ’s Hospitality Booth in The Marketplace. A portion of proceeds will support area charities. A listing of the silent auction will be available on visitdowntownplano.com and at the event.Food and Beverages
Mixed in The Marketplace will be vendors selling food and food products. In addition, several of the Downtown Plano Restaurants will be open. There will be no alcohol service allowed in the street but several of the restaurants will be serving adult beverages. Several of the stores will be offering food and drink in their stores free to their customers. Open containers are now allowed on the streets in Plano.What: Downtown @ Sundown
