Asian Heritage Festival

Join NBC 5 and the Asian American Heritage Foundation and celebrate Asian Heritage Month at the Asian Heritage Festival on Sunday afternoon, May 8, beginning at 1:30 in Haggard Park near downtown Plano.

Come out to this fun filled day full of music, dance, cultural exhibitions and delicious food. The admission is free and it will be a wonderful Mother’s Day outing for the whole family.

In the evening, there is an indoor concert at Courtyard Theater featuring different performances from all the different Asian communities: China, India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines.

In the foyer of the Theater before the concert, there will be an exhibition of Asian paintings, artifacts and costumes. There will also be a demonstration of the Chinese art of calligraphy and the Japanese Tea Ceremony.

In addition, there is a month-long art exhibition showcasing Asian artists at Plano City Hall.

AAHF is a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting the diversity of Asian cultural heritage.
