Being a stay-at- home mom means there's never a dull moment. Just ask Gretchen Vogelzang and Paige Heninger.

The women are two friends who have seven children between them and share so many life experiences that they decided to turn their friendship into a business venture called "Mommycast."

"Paige and I were spending 45 minutes to an hour on the phone twice a week anyway. All we're really doing is recording those conversations," said Volgelzang.

"Mommycast" is a weekly Podcast you can download from the Internet and listen to anytime, anywhere. It's especially convenient for moms, who rarely get uninterrupted free time.

Gretchen and Paige talk about a wide range of issues moms face today, from homework to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

"Mommycast" has gained popularity and the attention of a major sponsor. Dixie, the paper product giant, has signed on to sponser the program for $200,000.

"We really thought it was going to be a show for moms by moms and we're finding out that there's a lot of people that are interested," said Heninger.

Podcasting really took off just over a year ago, but since then all kinds of Podcasts have popped up on the Internet.

A tech columnist named Doc Searls has tracked how many hits Google got for the word 'Podcasts.' On Sept. 28, 2004, it had 24 hits. Only one year later it received 100 million.

"Mommycast" is on the brink of Podcast stardom, but Gretchen and Paige aren't looking for fame or fortune. They just want moms to find a support network so they can stay connected, share ideas and become better moms.

"We're just a couple of moms, and all of the sudden we're getting the opportunity to do a lot of really neat things. We feel really blessed. very lucky," said Heninger.
