DALLAS -- Age-fighting skin creams can cost a pretty penny and not all of them are effective, but a Dallas dermatologist has found one costing under $20 that delivers what it promises.
Baylor dermatologist Christine Brown said the breakthrough ingredient is pentapeptide KTTKS -- a protein that, she said, renews and repairs cells.
"I know of two products that contain this particular pentapeptide. One product is by Proctor & Gamble, and it's called Regenerist. The second product is called Strivectin," Brown said.Strivectin, which sells for $135, was originally used to treat stretch marks but has become an anti-wrinkle phenomenon. However, Olay Regenerist costs less than $20, and Brown said the cream provides "about a 25-percent reduction in fine lines and wrinkles."The results are enough to win Brown's loyalty. "I use it personally and I also recommend it to my patients," she said. "And so far, they have all seen some benefit."Pam Brock is among them. She used the Regenerist serum twice a day for six weeks and saw results."It's plumped up the skin a little bit, and that helps get rid of wrinkles," she said. For more information about pentapeptides, please use the resources below. On The Net:
