Older Women At Higher Breast-Cancer Risk

A study conducted by medical researchers in Sweden showed that age could be a major factor in surviving breast cancer.

The researchers studied two groups of women -- one ages 70-84, and the other 50-69. Women in the older group were found to have a 13-percent less chance of surviving breast cancer than women in the younger group.

Physicians also were less likely to prescribe more aggressive forms of treatments for older patients, according to the researchers.
