Traffic Reporter
Tammy Dombeck joined NBC 5 in March of 2000. Her Gridlock Busters traffic reports can be seen weekdays on NBC 5 Today from 5-7am and throughout the cut-in’s for the Today Show.Dombeck’s entertainment report, “The Download” can be seen on the NBC-5 website. She visits Hollywood once a year to interview the stars for the old, new and upcoming NBC shows.
She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences Degree. At UNT she majored in Radio, Television and Film and a minored in Communications.Dombeck started her career as the radio news and traffic reporter for The Edge All Request Morning Show in 1997. In addition, Dombeck reported on traffic for 92.5 KZPS, Magic 102.1, 99.5 The Wolf, 100.3 FM and 770 AM. She was also the stand-in traffic reporter for The Hardliners on 1310 The Ticket and gave weather updates on Soul 73 KKDA. In 1998 Dombeck did a feature sports segment for KLIF radio called Picks of the Polish Girl.In 2001 the Fort Worth Weekly honored Dombeck with a nomination for Best Gridlock Buster, in their “Best of Edition”.Dombeck speaks at various schools across the Metroplex.In college, Dombeck worked in the film industry. She was the Production Coordinator for a Tejano music video, and the Production Assistant and an extra for the short film, “Relative Fate”. Dombeck has done corporate voice work for the Raytheon Corporation and Please Hold Incorporated.
