Ellen Goldberg joined the NBC 5 news team as a reporter in March 2007.She graduated cum laude from Tulane University, majoring in communication with a minor in sociology. Ellen began her career as a reporter and anchor at WMDN-TV in Meridian, Miss. From there she moved to WECT-TV in Wilmington, N.C., and worked as a reporter and anchor. Before moving to Dallas, Ellen was the weekend anchor and an investigative reporter for KOAT–TV in Albuquerque, N.M.Among many honors, Ellen has been recognized by the New Mexico Associated Press with the Investigative Reporting Award and by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association with an award in Breaking News. She was also part of a news team that was recognized with the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Regional Award.As the first reporter at the scene when Jennifer Wilbanks, the runaway bride, turned up in Albuquerque, Ellen provided reports for CNN, ABC News and television stations across the country.Ellen is originally from Mobile, Ala., where her family still lives. Her hobbies include traveling, dining out, running and spending time with family and friends.
