FLOWER MOUND, Texas -- After going missing for nearly a year, a Flower Mound family's pet is back home.Brewster the dog slipped out of the gate at his home last spring and recently turned up 15 miles away in Irving. The dog's owners, the Hallemans, searched nonstop for weeks, even hiring a telemarketing company to call their neighbors in a 60-block radius.
"We searched for five days straight -- about 20 hours a day," said Eddy Halleman. The family also posted his picture on FidoFinder.com, but for 10 months they had no leads on Brewster's location."It was devastating for us because he's a family member," said Aimee Halleman. "I didn't think he was with us anymore."A woman in south Irving found Brewster and used the posting on the Internet to contact the Hallemans."This sweet girl said, 'I think I have your dog,'" said Aimee. "It's amazing. It's like our family is whole again."Brewster spent a little time with the vet recently to patch up a leg he injured while away and the family said he is fine now and actually gained some weight during his 10-month absence.
