Dirty Air And The Metroplex

POSTED: 3:33 pm CDT June 24, 2002

During the summer, the air over the Metroplex can become potentially harmful.

Conditions that help to brew air pollution are hazy, sunny skies, high humidity and little wind and rain.

More Info: Understanding Pollution Advisories

And those are exactly the kind of conditions we can experience in D/FW during the summer.

You may also consider re-fueling your car after dusk and refraining from 'topping off' your gas tank to help cut down on fuel evaporation. Eliminating the use of gas lawn mowers can also be helpful.

To cut down on emissions, avoid driving during peak hours and car pool with others.
