Asian Business Owner Attacked In Allen Home Invasion

ALLEN, Texas -- Allen police said three men ambushed an Asian Dallas business owner and his young daughter in their home Friday afternoon.Police said the men entered the home through an open garage door. They tied up the business owner in front of his 4-year-old daughter and ransacked their home, Allen police said.Sgt. Jon Felty said one of the men had a knife. The victim told police the men spoke with an African accent, Felty said.
" He also said they spoke with each other in a language unknown to him," Felty said.Police said they suspect the attackers knew the Asian man was a business owner.In recent months, Asian business owners have been targeted for home Invasions, robberies and burglaries in at least six North Texas cities, investigators said.A multi-agency police task force has been established to investigate the incidents. Some arrests have been made, the attacks have continued.Investigators said more people may have been victimized, but have not reported the crimes to police.Elaine Wilkinson, a next-door neighbor, said the family had recently obtained citizenship. She said the incident shocked her."I'm appalled, really, and I think kind of flabbergasted as well," she said. "I'm really kind of in shock about it all."Police said they have some good leads in Friday's attack. Investigators said the men only managed to take a lot of personal information about the victims.
