2 Firefighters Injured In Azle Warehouse Fire

AZLE, Texas -- Two local firefighters were injured while battling a large fire in Azle on Friday night.The fire broke out at a Quality Trailers Products plant near downtown Azle at about 8:30 p.m.Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. Both men were treated at a hospital and released.
Carol Houlihan, a witness, said the fire was so hot, it melted the metal siding. She said the warehouse is one of the largest employers in Azle.Fire officials said the building, which is primarily used as storage building for shipping, is a total loss. Fire officials said $2.5 million worth of products were lost in the fire.The company does not expect any jobs to lost, fire officials said.According to company's Web site, Quality Trailer Products manufactures and distributes trailer axles, fenders and commercial wheels.Fire crews from Tarrant and Parker counties fought the blaze for about three hours and stayed overnight to check for hotspots.The cause of the fire is under investigation.
