Police cruisers blocked off several streets around the D.R. Horton building on Commerce Street.
The roads will remain closed until crews fix broken windows on the building after strong storms that moved through early Thursday cracked several windows in the building.A person walking by Thursday afternoon first noticed the cracks after finding broken glass on the sidewalk below. To avoid congestion, police are asking drivers who typically pass by the building on Third and Commerce streets to take an alternate route, and they urge pedestrians not to walk in the area.No one has been injured. The building owners have been in contact with a repair company and said it will most likely be later in the day before the cracks are fixed. It is unknown at this time whether any of the businesses surrounding the building will have to close.
