ARLINGTON, Texas -- Firefighters said a large fire destroyed an Arlington home on Saturday night. The blaze broke out at about 8:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Collard Road.Firefighters said the fire started in the second or third floor of the home. Firefighters said the intensity of the flames forced them to scale back efforts to contain the blaze.
"Firefighters made an initial attack finding the conditions inside were unsuitable for an aggressive fire attack," Arlington Fire spokesman Don Crowson said. "Firefighters had to pull out of the building and move into a defensive operation."No one was inside the house at the time. The home is a complete loss. Firefighters said the cause of the fire has not been determined.
