Colleyville House Fire Hits 3 Alarms

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Firefighters from three separate departments battled a three-alarm fire at a house on the 300 block of Polo Trail on Monday.

The fire was reported just after 4:30 p.m. By 5 p.m., flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the large two-story home and the fire had been elevated to three alarms.
The one person that was in the house at the time the fire started got out safely and met firefighters when they showed up, officials said.Firefighters from Southlake and Keller assisted Colleyville firefighters in extinguishing the blaze.One Southlake firefighter received second-degree burns to his neck and was treated on the scene by paramedics and declined transport to the hospital.Fire officials said they believe the fire started in the laundry room of the house and spread quickly upstairs into the attic and second floor.It is not yet known what sparked the fire.
