ARLINGTON, Texas -- A woman who said she was injured at a popular North Texas water park is now suing the company, NBC 5 reported.Nancy Maxson, 36, said she broke her foot last July on a slide called Atlantic Panic at Hurricane Harbor and that the problem has not been fixed. She said what was supposed to be a fun day at the water park has turned into a painful nightmare."It's been horrible," Maxson said. "I just had my second surgery and now my foot is fused where I won't be able to move my ankle ever again."
Hurricane Harbor has since repaired the slide, but an expert hired by Maxson's lawyer said more could be done."It's an improvement on what existed, but not enough to be as safe as it could possibly be. It still has the potential to create an entrapment point," said Bill Avery, of Avery Safety Consulting. But Avery also said there is no way to predict if any more injuries will occur."A million people could ride it without another incident, but there's still a potential hazard," he said.A spokesperson for Hurricane Harbor would not comment on the lawsuit."This is by far the worst thing I've ever gone through," Masxon said. "Some better safety procedures should have been taken on their part," Maxson said.
