FORT WORTH, Texas -- A Dallas family practice doctor is in jail accused of killing his wife, police said.Farmers Branch police arrested Dr. Timothy Werner without incident at the clinic where he works on Thursday.Back in 2004, Werner's wife, Sara, was shot with a .357 Magnum in the chest. Werner said it was suicide but homicide investigators and the medical examiner suspected foul play.
A grand jury sent the case to the courts but the district attorney's office didn't take the case to trial.Police told NBC 5 that they aren't sure why the district attorney's office didn't prosecute the case in the past and when asked, the DA's office said they couldn't comment on the case.Werner is now being held on $150,000 bond.
