A 7-month-old baby boy died Friday morning apparently from injuries he sustained from scalding water, according to officials.

The scalding happened in the 3700 block of Trailwood Court in Arlington Thursday night.

Arlington police are investigating the mother's claim that the child managed to turn on the hot water in a sink while she was checking on another child.

The medical examiner's autopsy reports are still pending.

Meanwhile, Child Protective Services has removed a 2-year-old child from the home while the investigation continues.
