Man Surrenders After Using Ax To Damage ATMs

MT. PLEASANT, Texas -- The man captured by surveillance cameras striking three automated teller machines with an ax turned himself into the Titus County Sheriff's Department in Mt. Pleasant Wednesday.Jeffery Ray Davis, 35, was charged with two felony counts stemming from damage to two ATMs in Frisco, Texas. Investigators said a third felony charge is expected to be filed.

A camera inside an ATM at a Citibank on Preston Road in Frisco captured the suspect last week striking the machine with an ax several times before going to two more banks within an hour.Police said Davis failed to open the ATMs, but caused thousands of dollars in damage.Davis' 2000 Ford Focus was impounded Dec. 17 by the Denton County Sheriff's Office.Bonds were set at $20,000 for each offense.
