Police said the children -- an 11-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl -- were found living in deplorable conditions.The dogs were living inside and in the back yard. Many of the dogs have scars and were probably used for fighting, authorities said.The children's father was arrested on various charges, including resisting arrest and child endangerment.Animal control officials will keep the dogs until any legal cases are settled.Under local law, pit bulls can't be adopted out to the general public.Unless the dogs are eventually returned to the owner or a credited rescue group comes to their aid, they will be euthanized.
