FORT WORTH, Texas -- Friends and family are gathering in Midlothian Saturday night to pray for an injured football player.

Ryan Looney, a Midlothian High School student, severely injured his neck during Thursday night’s game against White Settlement High.

Looney was Careflighted to Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas where he underwent a seven- hour surgery Friday to repair the damage to his neck.

The prayer service will be held at the Midlothian Multipurpose Center.
