DALLAS -- Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport recently launched its own valet service, and now there is fierce competition with the older service providers, NBC 5 reported."We did a market survey, because we're never going to do anything to hurt any other business out here, and there is enough valet parking business out there for everybody," said Ken Capps of D/FW Airport. However, a Airport Valet representative disagreed and said the airport's new valet service is stalking its customers and telling them their workers are not allowed to take cars."Many of them as they're walking into the airport, the DFW Valet company starts telling them basically, 'Hey, have you heard about us? Try our service.' Some of them have even heard, they're not allowed to take your car," said John Biebighauser of the Airport Valet. "Instead of competing on a level playing field, they've tilted it slightly to themselves."The previous valet services have been around for years and work mostly on appointments and direct calls. The new airport-owned valet service seems geared more for drive-up business, but now they are attempting to intercept the older valet service customers, Biebighauser said.Capps denied that claim."Nothing could be further from the truth. Competition is good here at the airport," Capps said. "And for ever dollar of parking we bring into this airport, parking revenue, we actually lower the fees to the airlines which makes our airport more competitive."
